About the role
This is a part-time position in a busy urgent care setting. You will work alongside experienced providers and clinical staff, providing high-quality care and support to patients of all ages.
Responsibilities
- Rooming patients
- Obtaining and documenting vital signs
- Administering injections
- Performing venipuncture and specimen processing
- Conducting urinalysis and EKG testing
- Assisting with in-office procedures
- Preparing and cleaning procedure rooms
- Maintaining proper infection control standards
- Safely disposing of biohazard and sharps waste
- Ensuring clinical supplies are fully stocked and organized
Qualifications and Preferred Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proof of Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
- Must be a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) with an active certification with the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), or National Healthcareer Association (NHA)
- Aware of standards of cleaning and performs in accordance with them
- Ability to relate and work effectively with others
- Demonstrated skills in verbal and written English communications for safe and effective patient care and to meet documentation standards
- Ability to complete internally provided radiology and IV training courses within six months of hire
- Previous experience is preferred
