Atlantic Medical Group Endocrinology at Sparta and Hackettstown is seeking a full-time Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to work in both the Sparta and Hackettstown locations. This position offers daytime hours, Monday through Friday.

About the role

Responsible for providing general direct and indirect patient care in a clinical setting under the direct supervision of a physician. Collaborates with the interdisciplinary care team to ensure functionality of practice operations and excellent patient care. Works in clerical, administrative, or clinical capacities, and may perform specialized tasks to ensure medical facilities run smoothly.

Responsibilities

  • Handle patient intake, update medical records, and administer appropriate screening tools.
  • Record medical information and test results, conduct patient interviews, take and record vital signs, collect specimens, and administer medication under physician supervision.
  • Assist with walk-in and scheduled clinic visits, ensure verification and recording of clinical data, and adhere to quality standards.
  • Guide patients through the health care system and help them arrive at scheduled appointments on time.
  • Perform clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, assisting with examinations, and collecting and preparing laboratory samples.
  • Provide excellent communication and active listening to patients and team members.
  • Greet patients, schedule appointments, and maintain medical records in the computer system.
  • Clean and prep patient rooms and examination rooms, including sanitizing, reorganizing, disinfecting equipment, and stocking supplies.
  • Provide emotional support related to the patient's clinical situation in accordance with the patient's plan of care.
  • Assist with referrals of patients to appropriate specialists for diagnosis or treatment.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • National Certification as a CCMA from one of the following: NHA, AAMA, NAHP, ARMA, AMT, AMCA, or NCCT.
  • BLS certification upon hire.
  • Proficiency with EPIC or similar EMR system.
  • Ability to work within computer systems.
  • Excellent communication, work ethic, active listening, and adaptability to a fast-paced environment.
  • Uphold the utmost professionalism at all times.

Qualifications

  • Preferred: 1 year of experience in health care services.
  • Preferred: Associate's degree in Medical Care or related field.
  • Preferred: 2+ years of experience in an outpatient, ambulatory setting.
