Medical Practice Operation Manger

Essential Functions
- Clinical duties: Collects medical histories, monitors vital signs, explains treatments to patients, prepares them for exams and procedures.
- Patient care support: Assists medical staff, gathers and prepares lab samples, conducts basic lab tests, performs EKGs, removes sutures/staples, changes dressings, educates patients and families about care, documents in records.
- Additional tasks: Disposes of contaminated supplies, processes instruments, cleans medical equipment, calls in prescriptions, prepares and gives medications as instructed by the doctor, handles prescription refills.
- Aids patients in reality orientation, participates in behavior modification plans/therapy, provides verbal de-escalation of potentially aggressive patients.
- Administrative duties: Greets patients, answers calls, schedules appointments, checks in/out patients, handles referral scheduling, coordinates lab services, updates medical records, completes forms, manages billing tasks like receiving copays and collecting balances, handles correspondence, orders supplies.
Education Requirements
High School diploma or GED
Licensure/Certification Requirements
- Certification by AAMA, AMT, NHA-CCMA, NCMA or ARMA required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification.
- Knowledge of AthenaHealth electronic health records (EHR) system is a plus.
