About the role

The role involves performing basic nursing skills and serving under the direction and supervision of the practice physician, advanced practice professional, and/or registered nursing staff.

Responsibilities

  • Greets and escorts patients to exam rooms;
  • Prepares for provider visits by obtaining initial information and vital signs;
  • Prepares exam rooms for patients with attention to cleanliness and availability of supplies;
  • Auxiliary with and/or performs exams, tests, and procedures;
  • Schedules appointments and sets up referral contacts as needed;
  • Auxiliary with providers during patient examinations and procedures;
  • Edifies patients on follow-up expectations;
  • Maintains quality control testing logs as required;
  • Ensures all medical equipment is in proper working condition;
  • Auxiliary with patients in completing medical documentation;
  • Travels to patient homes to assist the Registered Nurse in Home Health environments.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent;
  • Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date;
  • Current National Certification as Certified Medical Assistant;
  • One (1) year of healthcare experience.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program;

  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
