Job Duties
- Take patient's vital signs.
- Prepare patients for the provider's care.
- Assist with patient examinations or treatments.
- Correctly document all entries in the medical record, either electronic or hard copy, to include signature, date and time.
- Administer medication as directed by and under the direct supervision of licensed physician.
- Observe and report patients' signs or symptoms.
- Collect routine laboratory specimens as directed by the provider.
- Administer basic first aid.
- Participates in performance improvement projects.
- Participates as an active care team member in the coordination of patient care.
- Provides a standard of excellence as it relates to customer service for patients, staff members, and other customers.
- Additional duties as assigned - May travel to other clinics.
Qualifications
- Experience: 1 year Medical assistant preferred, 2 years Clerical/customer service experience - ideally in a health care related industry preferred, 1 year One year experience with third party payors and computer experience for in putting data and reviewing patient demographic material preferred.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required, Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) required within 6 months, Basic Life Support (BLS) required at time of hire, Medical Terminology Certificate preferred at time of hire.
Additional Details
