Responsibilities
- Interviews patients, measures vital signs, and records information on patients' charts.
- Affords assistance with treatments ordered by the provider under supervision.
- Prepares treatment rooms for patient examinations.
- Orders and stocks supplies, ensuring a clean and orderly environment.
- Documents provider encounters with patients, including diagnoses, symptoms, follow-up instructions, and prescriptions.
- Transcribes patient orders for laboratory tests, radiology tests, and medications.
- Provides patient education and explanations of risks and benefits.
- Collaborates with healthcare professionals to perform procedures and treatments.
- Maintains accurate and thorough documentation of all patient interactions and medical procedures.
- Ensures compliance with clinical policies and procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Grad or Equiv [Required]
- 1+ years of experience as medical assistant in primary care and/or specialty clinic [Preferred]
- Customer service experience in medical office [Preferred]
Qualifications
- BLS - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
- Clinical Medical Assistant Certification (CMAC) [Required]
- Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA) [Required]
Skills
Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS), American Association Medical Assistants (CMA), Clinical Medical Assistant Certification (CMAC), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA)
