Certified Medical Assistant - ENT

About the role

A Certified Medical Assistant supports patient care, care coordination, clinical documentation, and other clinical functions in an ENT physician practice.

This position is eligible for a $5,000 retention bonus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for physician/provider examination and administer injections and immunizations.
• Perform laboratory testing, EKGs, and other medical office testing and procedures.
• Schedule appointments, testing procedures, and work in both front office and clinical areas as assigned.
• Apply medical knowledge and critical thinking skills to assist physicians with proficient and comprehensive documentation.
• Arrange for diagnostic testing, specialist appointments, and hospital admissions.
• Perform required phlebotomy, administer injections, immunizations, and other special procedures (e.g., venipuncture, cleansing wounds/lesions).
• Measure and record at least three vital signs per patient visit.
• Perform telephone triage, including gathering illness details, answering questions, and reviewing calls with nurse practitioners or physicians as needed.
• Maintain waiting rooms, examination rooms, and offices; order supplies as required.
• Contribute to team building by supporting management decisions and participating in performance improvement activities.
• Train other Medical Assistants.
• Notify management of changes in workload.
• Complete all educational requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a qualified Medical Assistant course.
• Certified or Registered Medical Assistant certification.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (American Heart Association).

Qualifications

• Preferred: One or more years of medical office experience.
• Preferred: Previous patient care experience in a physician office specialty area.
• Preferred Licenses & Certifications: National Registered Certified Medical Assistant or Registered Medical Assistant.
