Certified Medical Assistant- Community Internal Medicine
Description
Affords assistance in patient examinations and treatments by managing patient information, updating medical records, supporting in-office procedures and tests, dispensing medications, and educating patients and caregivers.
Position Requirements
- Licensure/Certification/Registration: MA-Non-Credentialed I: Eligible to obtain Medical Assistant Certification/Registration within 90 days, or EMT with current/active license in Georgia, or Paramedic after passing the National Registry Paramedic Exam and/or holding a current/active Georgia license. Valid CPR certification required.
- Certification/Registration: Certification/Registration as a Medical Assistant from one of the following agencies: American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA), American Medical Technologists (RMA), National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA), National Healthcare Association (CCMA), National Association of Health Professionals (NRCMA), American Medical Certification Association (CMAC).
- Education: High School Diploma or GED. Completion of an accredited/approved MA program and MA Externship, Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) program, Paramedic program, or Certified Athletic Trainer.
- Experience: 0–3 years of previous clinical experience or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
- Special Qualifications: Basic understanding of medical terminology and proficiency in Microsoft Office and internet applications. Preference given to those with experience in medical office operations and EMR use.
