Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) - Urgent Care (Days)

About the role

Responsible for rendering clinical care within the medical practice in support of and as directed by the physician. Assists in the day-to-day operation of the office to ensure quality patient care.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation
• Communicate medical orders to patients, hospitals, and other physicians
• Travel to all Tanner Medical Group locations as required

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Three months of related experience (MA or nursing school may be used as part of the experience required)
• Certified Medical Assistant (AAMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (AMT); certification from NCCT, NAHP, or NHA also accepted
• Healthcare Provider (CPR) certification; BLS within 90 days of hire

Qualifications

• Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with patients, family members, employees, and physicians
• Cognitive ability to understand medical records, physician’s orders, and medical orders
• Discipline to work following accepted clinical standards
• Prior experience in performing x-rays and EKG preferred
• Six months of experience preferred
