Team Overview

UT Health East Texas has extended its healthcare services to include urgent care facilities. These locations have highly skilled and compassionate healthcare professionals dedicated to providing exceptional care for various non‑life‑threatening conditions.

Responsibilities

• Perform administrative duties such as scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records, billing, and coding information for insurance purposes.
• Perform clinical duties including rooming patients, taking and recording vital signs and medical histories, preparing patients for examination, drawing blood, and administering medications as directed by a physician.
• Work under the direction of a physician.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Graduate from an accredited medical assistant/medical technologist school or program.
• Current national certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA).
• Basic knowledge of Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems and Microsoft Office.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
• Preferred: Associate’s degree.
• Preferred: Prior experience in a clinic or hospital setting supporting patient care.
