About the Role
Join Southern Tennessee Regional Health System-Pulaski, part of Lifepoint Health, as a Certified Medical Assistant. This full-time, day-shift position (Mon-Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, no weekends) offers the opportunity to contribute to a vital mission dedicated to making communities healthier. You'll be part of a new practice opening in Pulaski, working alongside an experienced team to provide exceptional surgical care in a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
- Provides basic patient care activities under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN).
- Monitors and records vital signs, intake and output, and reports changes in patient condition to nursing staff.
- Assists patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, toileting, eating, and ambulation.
- Observes and promptly reports abnormal physical, mental, or emotional findings.
- Maintains patient rooms and common areas to ensure a clean, safe, and organized care environment.
- Supports nursing and physician staff with patient care activities and unit workflow.
- Manages tech desk operations and assists with maintaining efficient department throughput.
- Documents patient care and activities in accordance with hospital and unit standards.
- Participates in required education, competency validation, and performance improvement activities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- National Certification as a Certified Medical Assistant required.
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Handle with Care certification preferred.
- Athena knowledge preferred.

Southern Tennessee Regional Health System-Pulaski is a 157-bed facility located in the heart of Franklin County, serving communities such as Winchester, Sewanee, Decherd, Cowan, Estill Springs, Tullahoma, Manchester, and surrounding areas. The hospital is fully accredited by The Joint Commission and offers a comprehensive range of services, including:
- 10-bed Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
- 12-bed Geriatric Psychiatry Unit
- 12-bed Acute Inpatient Physical Rehabilitation Unit
- Skilled Nursing Unit
- Sleep Lab
- Cardiac Catheterization Lab
- Five Operating Rooms and two Endoscopy Suites

The Sewanee campus, located on the grounds of the University of the South, is a 41-bed facility offering 21 general acute care beds and 20 skilled nursing beds. It includes a 4-bay Emergency Department that cares for over 5,000 patients each year, known for its personalized approach and strong community connections.
