Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) - Surgical Group (Days) (PRN)

About the role

Responsible for rendering clinical care within the medical practice in support of and as directed by the physician. Assists in the day-to-day operation of the office to ensure quality patient care.

Clinical care includes patient assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation
• Assist in the day-to-day operation of the medical office

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Certified Medical Assistant (AAMA, AMT, NCCT, ARMA, AAH, ASPT, NRCMA, NAHP, or NHA)
• Healthcare Provider (CPR) certification
• BLS certification (within 90 days of hire)
• Capable of dealing tactfully and effectively with patients, family members, employees, and physicians
• Cognitive ability to understand medical records, physician’s orders, and medical instructions
• Sense of discipline to work by accepted clinical standards

Qualifications

• Six months of experience preferred
• Prior experience performing x-rays and EKGs preferred
• MA or nursing school may be used as part of the required experience
