Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) - Adult Outpatient Family Medicine - Days - PRN

About the role

The Certified Medical Assistant provides direct, age‑specific care to a patient or group of patients based on medical orders and the plan of care under the direction of the physician. Serves all age‑specific groups.

Responsibilities

• Handle, transport, access to, and/or contact with medications and related supplies.
• Function under direction of a licensed independent practitioner, manager and/or RN in providing patient care, emotional support, and problem solving; in accordance with hospital, nursing and unit policy/procedure.
• Obtain prior approval or guidance from supervisor for time/schedule changes; legal issues; directed care which deviates from standard; and identify educational resources to meet developmental needs.

Requirements

• Current Medical Assistant Certification through a recognized national professional association (e.g., American Association of Medical Assistants, American Medical Technologists, National Association of Healthcare Professions, American Registry of Medical Assistants, National Healthcare Association).
• AHA BLS HCP Certification or equivalent.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• One (1) year of medical assistant work experience within the last three (3) years if individual is not a graduate of a medical assistant program; no work experience required if individual is a graduate of a medical assistant program.
• Previous experience using a personal computer and various software applications, including Microsoft, e‑mail, etc.
• Demonstrated experience utilizing strong organizational, problem solving, communication and interpersonal skills.
