Responsibilities
- Greeting patients and escorting them to exam rooms
- Taking patients' vital signs and other medical information
- Preparing medical instruments and ensuring exam rooms are disinfected
- Maintaining inventory and stocking supplies
- Passing along patient information for prescriptions, x-rays, or lab requisitions
- Addressing and requesting referrals and insurance authorizations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Graduate from an accredited medical assistant/medical technologist school/program
- Current national certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)
- Basic Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Microsoft Office knowledge
- BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care
Preferred Job Requirements
- Associate’s degree
- Prior experience in a clinic or hospital setting supporting patient care
