About the Role
Provides direct patient care and clinical support in an outpatient setting as an integral team member under provider supervision.
Responsibilities
- Perform clinical procedures, prepare exam rooms, and support provider during patient visits.
- Administer medications and tests following policies.
- Collect specimens, assist with laboratory functions, and ensure accurate documentation using electronic medical records.
- Support patient education, facilitate communication, and reinforce provider instructions.
- Maintain infection prevention protocols, sterilize instruments, and ensure safety compliance.
- Assist with clerical duties, including scheduling, billing inquiries, referrals, and inventory management.
- Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
Requirements
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) by recognized associations.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Preferred completion of a 1- or 2-year accredited medical assistant program.
- Demonstrates competency in clinical procedures, infection control, patient safety, and communication.
- Ability to multitask and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
