About the role
This role provides direct patient care and clinical support in an outpatient setting, working as part of a healthcare team under the provider's guidance.
Responsibilities
- Obtain patient information, vital signs, and screening data
- Assist with examinations, minor procedures, and wound care
- Perform EKGs, phlebotomy, specimen collection, and administer medications within scope
- Support patient preparation and safety
- Document accurately in electronic medical records
- Facilitate appointments, referrals, and billing inquiries
- Maintain infection control and sterilization protocols
- Manage inventory and assist with new staff orientation
- Participate in quality and safety programs
Requirements
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA or RMA)
- Preferred graduation from a 1-year certificate or 2-year diploma program
- Strong communication, organization, and infection prevention skills
- Ability to support patient education and team collaboration
