About the role

This role provides direct patient care and clinical support in an outpatient setting, working as part of a healthcare team under the provider's guidance.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain patient information, vital signs, and screening data
  • Assist with examinations, minor procedures, and wound care
  • Perform EKGs, phlebotomy, specimen collection, and administer medications within scope
  • Support patient preparation and safety
  • Document accurately in electronic medical records
  • Facilitate appointments, referrals, and billing inquiries
  • Maintain infection control and sterilization protocols
  • Manage inventory and assist with new staff orientation
  • Participate in quality and safety programs

Requirements

  • Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA or RMA)
  • Preferred graduation from a 1-year certificate or 2-year diploma program
  • Strong communication, organization, and infection prevention skills
  • Ability to support patient education and team collaboration
