About the role

The Kaniksu Community Health (KCH) is a non-profit, award-winning community health center located in north Idaho. We provide integrated, team-based healthcare services across various age groups and health conditions, ensuring accessibility, affordability, and quality care for all.

Responsibilities

• Prepares treatment rooms, positions instruments and equipment, and rooms patients.
• Performs delegated patient care and therapeutic measures within the appropriate scope of practice.
• Administers medications, gives injections, and applies dressings according to KCH policy and procedure.
• Calls in prescriptions based on written Medical Provider orders.
• Fills out laboratory and diagnostic testing requests and makes patient appointments.
• Communicates effectively with patients and families using tact and professionalism.
• Works collaboratively with the PCMH team to create a positive team environment.

Requirements

• Minimum graduate of an accredited medical and/or nursing assistant program with a current C.M.A credential.
• Experience in a community health center, public health, or community hospital preferred.
• Cognitive skills necessary to understand medical instructions and identify problems.
• Light typing and computer skills.
• Accuracy, proficiency, and efficiency in performing tasks.
• Effective communication skills with patients and families.

Qualifications

• Current C.M.A credential.
• Experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
