Certified Medical Assistant (Cardiology) - 40 hours, days
About the role
The Medical Assistant II (MA II) supports office/clinic functions under the direction of licensed clinicians. Duties include providing clinical care, performing clerical tasks, assisting with patient care, and collaborating with insurers.
Responsibilities
- Escorts patients to examination rooms
- Takes and records vital signs
- Collects and documents patient health status
- Performs EKG’s, phlebotomy, and POC tests
- Administers non-intravenous injections
- Aids in physical examinations and clinical procedures
- Reviews and documents laboratory results
- Communicates patient observations to licensed clinicians
- Sets up and prepares examination rooms
- Maintains patient equipment and supplies
- Processes prescriptions and refills
- Performs clerical duties such as typing, filing, scheduling, and letter preparation
- Verifies insurance coverage and obtains necessary authorizations
- Collects co-payments from patients
Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent. Current BLS/HS certification from the American Heart Association. Medical Assistant credential from the Massachusetts Department of Health.
Qualifications
- License/Certification/Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. Current BLS/HS certification. Medical Assistant credential from the Massachusetts Department of Health.
Skills
Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology. Proficiency in computer software, including electronic medical records. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Pay
$21.90 - $35.28 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
Schedule
Monday through Friday, 8:30am-5pm, Shift 1 - Day Shift, 8 Hours.
