Position Highlights

What You’ll Do
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
- Prepare for patient visits
- Support Providers during exams, procedures, treatments, and minor surgeries
- Collect and process laboratory specimens
- Complete screenings and follow up on test results
- Administer medications as ordered by a physician
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Completion of one of the following:
- Graduation from a CAAHEP- or ABHES- accredited Medical Assisting program (minimum 720 hours, including 160-hour clinical externship)
- Completion of a state-approved Medical Assistant apprenticeship
- Completion of at least 720 hours of Medical Assistant college education
- Equivalent military training related to medical assisting
- Currently certified Medical Assistant or eligible to sit for certification
- National Medical Assistant certification required within 90 days of hire through one of the following:
- American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
- American Medical Technologists (AMT)
- National Healthcareer Association (NHA)
- National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
- CPR certification is required within 90 days of hire
- Spanish-speaking skills are preferred at a level 10

- Medical knowledge for understanding theories, reasons, and technical aspects of medicine
- Strong people skills to handle diverse personalities, backgrounds, and situations
- Excellent multitasking ability to manage varied workloads
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Epic, and EMR
