Certified Medical Assistant

Facility: Northern Regional Jail & Correctional Center, Moundsville, WV

About the role

As a Medical Assistant, you'll play an important role in supporting providers and nursing staff while helping ensure the efficient delivery of healthcare services in a correctional healthcare environment. Working under the supervision of clinical leadership, you'll assist with patient care, clinical procedures, and daily medical unit operations.

Responsibilities

• Obtain vital signs, perform patient screenings, and gather clinical information for healthcare providers
• Assist physicians, nurses, and advanced practice providers with examinations, treatments, and minor procedures
• Implement provider orders and support patient care activities within scope of practice
• Maintain accurate documentation, patient records, and medical unit inventory
• Clean, sterilize, and maintain medical equipment and instruments
• Provide basic patient education, first aid, CPR, and administrative support as needed

Requirements

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or other Medical Assistant certification from vocational, technical school may be considered
• Current CPR certification
• High School Diploma or GED required
• Strong organizational, communication, and patient care skills
• Healthcare experience preferred

Schedule

• Full-time opportunities available: 9am to 9pm and 9am to 5pm
• Every other weekend (EOW)
