About the role

The Certified Medical Assistant supports clinical operations by rooming patients, collecting vital signs, and performing point-of-care testing. They are also responsible for documenting data in the EMR system and providing patient education regarding medications and care plans.

Responsibilities

  • Check in patients and record vital signs, medication history, drug allergy verification, review of symptoms list.
  • Conduct preliminary tests as appropriate based on the problem list or patient’s presenting symptoms.
  • Enter all data into the EMR system.
  • Perform procedures without error in a timely fashion as ordered by the provider.
  • Responsible for patient education including but not limited to medications, care planning, disease process understanding, environmental controls, and device teaching.
  • Document specific take home messages to the patient in the EMR system.
  • Take inventory of supplies and re-stock as needed.
  • Maintain sample medications, and printed information for patients.
  • Turn exam room to prepare for next patient.

Requirements

  • A current Washington State CMA license.
  • Completion of the 7 hours state mandated AIDS/HIV training program.
  • CPR/First aid for healthcare professionals card.
  • Washington state-insured Medical Assistant certification or registration proof.
  • Comprehension of EMR/HER recordkeeping system for delivery of healthcare.
  • Prior experience on Athena, Epic, GE or other system is required.
  • Self-motivation, empathy, and stellar interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to multitask.
  • Enthusiasm and desire to participate as a team member and gain a variety of technical skills.
  • A history of working in an outpatient setting, preferably in asthma/allergy, ENT, pediatric, or dermatology specialty offices.

Pay

Pay Range $24.00 to $32.00 per hour

Schedule

This is a non-exempt position that is paid by the hour. Work Location and Hours of Operations: Northwest Asthma and Allergy – 9725 3rd Ave NE Suite 500, Seattle 98115 Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
