Certified Medical Assistant

About the role

The CMA delivers quality care consistent within the scope of practice as outlined by the local state. The CMA assumes responsibility and accountability for the quality of care delivered during work hours; works to ensure a safe environment for themselves, the patient and other staff members. Must possess a current and valid CMA certificate. Works in accordance with local practice acts and regulations, and functions to other competent nursing personnel appropriate to their scope of practice. Experience in Correctional or behavioral desired but not required. CPR certified.

Responsibilities

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a formal training program in medical assisting.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, pharmacology, and anatomy and physiology.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Proficient in using medical software and equipment.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
