About the Role
The Certified Medical Assistant performs appointment scheduling and registration for patients, updates demographic information, and carries out a variety of patient care activities to assist physicians. Responsibilities include preparing examination rooms, taking and recording patient vital signs, maintaining medical charts, and receiving co-payments.
Responsibilities
- Perform patient assessment
- Conduct clinical procedures
- Execute physician orders
- Ensure patient satisfaction
- Maintain clinic resource availability
- Ensure regulatory compliance
- Perform phone triage
- Handle pre-certification and authorization
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent (Required)
- Medical Assistant Certification from an accredited teaching establishment (Required)
- 1 to 2 years of related work experience (Preferred)
- If not currently certified, must obtain certification within the first 90 days of employment
Skills
- Keyboarding skills and aptitude for learning patient database programs
- Knowledge of OSHA requirements
- Knowledge of medical terminology
