Certified Medical Assistant

About the Role

The Certified Medical Assistant performs appointment scheduling and registration for patients, updates demographic information, and carries out a variety of patient care activities to assist physicians. Responsibilities include preparing examination rooms, taking and recording patient vital signs, maintaining medical charts, and receiving co-payments.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient assessment
• Conduct clinical procedures
• Execute physician orders
• Ensure patient satisfaction
• Maintain clinic resource availability
• Ensure regulatory compliance
• Perform phone triage
• Handle pre-certification and authorization

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent (Required)
• Medical Assistant Certification from an accredited teaching establishment (Required)
• 1 to 2 years of related work experience (Preferred)
• If not currently certified, must obtain certification within the first 90 days of employment

Skills

• Keyboarding skills and aptitude for learning patient database programs
• Knowledge of OSHA requirements
• Knowledge of medical terminology
