Certified Medical Assistant

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for exams taking vital signs and documenting cardiac history such as chest pain or palpitations
• Perform diagnostic tests including EKGs, Holter monitoring, event monitors, and stress tests ensuring accurate readings
• Assist cardiologists during echocardiograms, stress tests, pacemaker checks, and minor in-office procedures
• Administer medications, give injections, and prepare medications or IV setups as directed
• Collect blood and lab samples for cholesterol, cardiac enzyme, and metabolic testing and educate patients on heart healthy habits

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school for Medical Assistants, Surgical Technologists, or one year of experience as a Medical Assistant in a physician clinic setting
• Current BLS certification upon hire and maintained current
• Current medical assistant credential from a nationally recognized Medical Assistant Credentialing organization required
• One year experience as a medical assistant in a clinic setting, preferred
