Certified Medical Assistant
Sentara Obstetrics, Gynecology & Midwifery Specialists Evelyn Byrd is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant in Harrisonburg, VA.
Schedule
- Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week
- Hours are approximately 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM, depending on provider workflow
- Rarely floats, but must be able to float if needed
About the Role
The CERTIFIED Medical Assistant performs patient care and administrative/clerical related tasks and procedures based on training, education, and competency evaluations, and as delegated by and under the direction/supervision of the Physician, Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant (NP/PA), Registered Nurse (RN), or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
The CERTIFIED Medical Assistant provides an environment for safety; identifies, addresses, and incorporates principles of safety for the patient, visitors, and employees. Provides patient care tasks and procedures and administrative duties (as appropriate). Demonstrates the ability to objectively assess a specific situation from a few viewpoints, considers an array of alternatives, assists with the development of realistic action plans and evaluates outcomes. Demonstrates the development of the specific skills and knowledge required of medical assistants, effective inter-departmental interactions, and ability to follow department and system policies, procedures, and practices. Productive and efficient in daily operations. Utilizes appropriate resources that are safe, effective, ethical, and fiscally responsible.
Qualifications
- Certification required at hire
- Must have one of the following on the first day of employment:
- Certified Medical Assistant
- Registered Medical Assistant
- Certified Clinical Medical Assistant
- Certified EMT (EMT-B)
- BLS within 90 days of hire date
Education
- High School Diploma OR equivalency (required)
Skills
- Lab draw experience highly preferred
- Phlebotomy experience highly preferred
- Strong attitude and teamwork skills preferred
- Fast-paced office environment
Pay
The base pay range for full-time employment is $21.69 - $32.14 hourly. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs. Up to $5,000 Sign-on Bonus offered to eligible candidates!
