Certified Medical Assistant

Overview

The CERTIFIED Medical Assistant performs patient care and administrative/clerical related tasks and procedures based on training, education, and competency evaluations, and as delegated by and under the direction/supervision of the Physician, Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant (NP/PA), Registered Nurse (RN), or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care tasks and procedures and administrative duties (as appropriate)
• Demonstrates the ability to objectively assess a specific situation from a few viewpoints, considers an array of alternatives, assists with the development of realistic action plans and evaluates outcomes
• Demonstrates the development of the specific skills and knowledge required of medical assistants, effective inter-departmental interactions, and ability to follow department and system policies, procedures, and practices
• Utilizes appropriate resources that are safe, effective, ethical, and fiscally responsible

Requirements

• Certification required at hire
• Laboratory draw experience highly preferred
• Strong attitude and teamwork skills preferred

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma OR equivalency
• Certification: Must have one of the following on the first day of employment: Certified Medical Assistant, Registered Medical Assistant, Certified Clinical Medical Assistant, Certified EMT (EMT-B)
• Experience: Phlebotomy experience

Pay

Up to $5,000 Sign-on Bonus offered to eligible candidates!

Schedule

Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week. Hours are approximately 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM, depending on provider workflow. Rarely floats, but must be able to float if needed.
