Certified Medical Assistant

Overview

The City/State Edenton, NC Ob GYN and Midwifery is seeking a Medical Assistant to join their team. An additional 5,000 sign-on bonus is offered to eligible candidates.

Responsibilities

• Performs patient care and administrative/clerical related tasks and procedures based on training, education, and competency evaluations
• Works under the direction/supervision of the Physician, NP/PA, RN, or LPN
• Identifies, addresses, and incorporates principles of safety for the patient, visitors, and employees
• Provides patient care tasks and procedures and administrative duties (as appropriate)
• Demonstrates the ability to objectively assess a specific situation from a few viewpoints, consider an array of alternatives, assist with the development of realistic action plans, and evaluate outcomes
• Demonstrates the development of the specific skills and knowledge required of medical assistants, effective inter-departmental interactions, and ability to follow department and system policies, procedures, and practices
• Utilizes appropriate resources that are safe, effective, ethical, and fiscally responsible

Requirements

• High School Diploma
• Must have one of the following Certifications: Certified Medical Assistant, Registered Medical Assistant, Certified Clinical Medical Assistant, Certified EMT (EMT-B, AEMT, or Paramedic)
• BLS within 90 days of hire date
• Less than a year of related experience or OB Gyn experience preferred
