About the role

Responsibilities

• Use impeccable C-I-CARE in all patient interactions, ensuring a positive in-office experience through patient intake, same day schedule management, appropriate follow-up scheduling, and strong knowledge of billing and insurance.
• Maintain high standards of in-office care by properly labeling, handling, and processing specimens, maintaining inventory, and sterilizing tools.
• Provide best-in-class venipuncture services for a wide age range, including pediatrics and geriatrics, and perform extended scope duties such as EKGs, vitals, ear lavages, vaccines, PPD tests, and swabs.
• Answer patient messages, follow up on lab cases, assist with clerical duties like biometric screening forms, medical record reviews, billing inquiries, and DOH reporting.
• Contribute to team development through rounding, attending team huddles, problem-solving, and supporting providers with ad hoc requests.
• Perform opening and closing duties, including maintaining the office's look and feel, restocking supplies, and organizing the workspace.
• Master our technology suite, including Slack, G-suite, Zoom, Circulation, RingCentral, and our Electronic Medical Record System.

Requirements

• An active Medical Assistant certification from NHA, AAMA, NCCT, or the AMT.
• A High School Diploma or equivalent.
• At least 6 months of relevant experience as a Medical Assistant or Phlebotomist outside of a training/externship environment.
• Strong customer service skills, including the ability to establish and maintain effective customer relationships and deliver customer-centric solutions.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in computer technology, including typing, navigating the internet, and using multiple software systems simultaneously.
• Experience working on collaborative, diverse, multi-disciplinary teams, including remote teams.
