Certified Medical Assistant

About the Role

To coordinate and assist the provider to ensure safe, quality, and cost-effective service and care for the people within the practice population.

Responsibilities

• Assist providers in delivering safe, quality, and cost-effective care.
• Perform generic and department-specific skills as validated through competency testing.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED, required.
• Current certification from one of the following approved registries (or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire):
  • CMA with the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
  • CCMA with the National Health Career Association (NHA)
  • RMA with the American Medical Technologists (AMT)
  • American Registry of Medical Assistants (NHCWA)
  • National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
  • National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP)
  • American Allied Health (AAH)
  • RMA with the American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA)
  Candidates must sign an education agreement if certification is not obtained at the time of hire.
• Previous work in a medical office, preferred.
• Current State Driver’s License (required for Palliative Care roles only).
