Certified Medical Assistant
About the role
Novant Health is seeking a dedicated Certified Medical Assistant to coordinate and assist healthcare providers in delivering safe, quality, and cost-effective care to our diverse patient population. Responsibilities
- Cook up and assist providers in delivering healthcare services.
- Aid providers during exams and procedures.
- Take vital signs, obtain medical histories.
- Absorb patient form requests such as FMLA or other needed forms.
- Prepare patients and exam rooms for treatment.
- Ensure safe, quality, and cost-effective care for patients.
- Foster a safe patient environment driven by the principles of "First Do No Harm."
- Engage in teamwork and community involvement to enhance patient care.
Requirements
- Educational requirement: High School Diploma or GED.
- Medical Assistant Program: Graduate from an accredited program including pharmacology and medication administration.
- Certification: Current certification as CMA, RMA, or CCMA, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
- Experience: Previous work in a Medical Office is preferred but not required.
Skills
- Ability to successfully complete skills validation and competency testing.

Pay
Competitive pay based on experience and qualifications.
Schedule
Full-time 36 hours per week, Monday through Thursday, 8:00am-5:00pm, Friday 8am-12pm, No Weekends, No Holidays.

Education
High School or GED, required. Candidates will provide proof of current certification from one of the approved certifying registries including: CMA with the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) CCMA with the National Health Career Association (NHA) RMA with the American Medical Technologists (AMT) American Registry of Medical Assistants (NHCWA) National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP) American Allied Health (AAH) RMA with the American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA).
Experience
Previous work in a medical office, preferred.
