About the role

We are looking for Certified Medical Assistants for our Jacksonville and St. Augustine Clinics.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate communication between the patient and the provider during patient care:
    • Collect and share pertinent information with the provider
    • Receive and act on directives from the provider
  • Prepare the patient for visits with the provider, including:
    • Rooming patients
    • Obtaining and documenting vitals
    • Reviewing intake paperwork
    • Pulling up radiology images
    • Removing dressings
    • Procedure set-up
    • Injection prep
    • Accurate data entry into EMR
  • Complete tasks associated with company initiatives such as PROs, Quality Payment Programs, etc.
  • Maintain exam room standards, including restocking rooms at the end of each clinic day and cleaning rooms and tables as needed.
  • Monitor and replace biohazard and sharps containers as needed.
  • Assist the provider in preparing patient prescriptions and completing medical and patient forms (e.g., work release, FMLA).
  • Retrieve and respond to voicemails within 24 business hours and document actions in EMR.
  • Prepare patient electronic charts for clinic visits before the date of service, including:
    • Verifying outstanding testing results are in EMR
    • Confirming the appropriateness of the patient to the provider (body part and/or insurance)
    • Noting imaging, DME, or casting needed before the provider visit
  • Scan clinical documents into EMR.
  • Print clinic schedules on the morning of the date of service.
  • Ensure patients receive education as indicated by the provider.
  • Manage EMR desktops of assigned providers promptly.
  • Create and promote a positive patient experience.
  • Maintain a HIPAA-compliant environment.
  • Maintain a clean workspace.

Requirements

  • Valid Medical Assistant Certification.
  • Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant training program or a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license.
  • Medical Assistant experience is preferred.
  • Experience with C-Arm preferred, or willingness to learn how to operate C-Arm.
  • Knowledge of the healthcare field, patient care in a clinic, back office skills, patient confidentiality, state laws, HIPAA regulations, and medical records procedures.
  • Professionalism when interacting with providers, co-workers, patients, family members, and the public.
  • Problem-solving and time management skills.
  • Ability to adapt to change.
  • Ability to project a pleasant and professional image as an employee both at work and on social media.
  • Ability to plan, prioritize, and complete delegated work assignments.
  • Ability to demonstrate compassion when dealing with patients and family members.

  • Possible travel between clinics for coverage purposes.
