Summary
The Certified Medical Assistant is essential during the patient visit, accompanying the dermatologist in the room and promoting a friendly and efficient environment for patients, staff, and dermatologists.

Responsibilities
- Rooming patients and documenting all vital information
- Scribing information for the dermatologist
- Providing post-op wound care to patients
- Drawing blood and suturing removal
- Cleaning and stocking the exam rooms
- Scheduling patient appointments
- Assisting the dermatologist with procedures such as surgical photographs, biopsies, excisions, electrodessication and curettage, Mohs micrographic skin cancer surgery, phototherapy, injections, Koh preps, trichograms, Tzank preps, dermabrasion, patch testing, blue light
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
- Post High School Education in a Medical Support Field
- Certified Medical Assistant, Licensed Practical Nurse, or Registered Nurse is strongly preferred
- 1+ years of recent experience in a medical office in a similar capacity is preferred
- Must keep current on all state certifications, licenses, and/or registrations to continue employment
- Willing to travel to other clinic locations as needed
- Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office and Electronic Medical Record systems
- Organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with staff, clients, and visitors
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize appropriately, and work well both individually and as part of a team
