Certified Medical Assistant

Responsibilities

• Greet and prepare patients for orthopedic examinations and procedures
• Record patient history, vital signs, and orthopedic-specific information
• Instruct patients on pre-operative (pre-op) and post-operative (post-op) care and medication regimens
• Help in orthopedic procedures, including bandaging, splinting, and wound care
• Facilitate diagnostic tests, imaging tests (e.g., X-rays, MRIs) and ensure accurate documentation of results
• Prepare and maintain examination rooms, including sterilization and inventory management of medical supplies and equipment
• Schedule patient appointments, manage charts, and update Electronic Medical Records (EHR) systems with patient information

Qualifications

• MEDICAL ASSISTANT SCHOOL OR VOCATIONAL TRAINING
• MINIMUM ONE YEAR WORK EXPERIENCE IN PUBLIC CONTACT JOB
• WORK EXPERIENCE IN HEALTH CARE PREFERRED
• CERTIFIED MEDICAL ASSISTANT (CMA) CERTIFICATION
• CURRENT BCLS (AHA) CERTIFICATE UPON HIRE AND MAINTAIN CURRENT
