CERTIFIED MEDICAL ASSISTANT

Full-time position located in Brattleboro, Vermont.

About the Role

The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) functions under the direct supervision and authority of the physician/NP/PA/CNM and reports to the practice manager. The CMA must demonstrate competency in all skills related to the performance of patient care, communicate effectively with others, maintain an inventory of examination/procedure room supplies, work with the healthcare team to assure smooth and efficient patient flow, and organize the office environment to assure patient safety.

The BMH Physician Group practices provide medical services in various specialties and offices including pediatrics, ob/gyn, cardiology, orthopedics, internal medicine, family practice, ENT, urology, and general surgery.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient care tasks competently under direct supervision.
• Communicate effectively with healthcare team and patients.
• Maintain inventory of examination and procedure room supplies.
• Assist in ensuring smooth and efficient patient flow.
• Organize the office environment to ensure patient safety.

Requirements

• High school graduate; medical assistant training program, EMS training, or nursing assistant training strongly preferred.
• Minimum two years within the last 5 years of experience in a doctor’s office setting preferred.
• Medical Assistant and CPR Certification required.

• Exposure to fumes or airborne particles: Up to 1/3 of the time
• Exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals: Up to 1/3 of the time
• Moderate noise level environment.
• Ability to hear calls and instructions from physician/department staff/others.

OSHA Category

OSHA Category I - Tasks that involve exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues require use of techniques of Universal Precautions as evidenced with bloodborne pathogens standards.

Pay

Salary range: $21 - $30.59 per hour.

Schedule

Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
