Job Summary

Certified Medical Assistant 101 Sunwest Blvd McGregor 76657 - Primary Care Schedule is: Full time, weekdays. M-F, 8a-5p

Responsibilities

  • Aid with patient examinations and treatments under physician guidance.
  • Clean and prepare treatment rooms before and after procedures, ensuring supplies are well-stocked.
  • Guide patients through the examination process and help them prepare.
  • Interview patients and update medical records with detailed medical information.
  • Record patient vital signs such as pulse, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height.
  • Prepare patients for exams, tests, procedures, and x-rays.
  • Administer routine medications and vaccinations as directed.
  • Maintain sterile and non-sterile dressings, change sutures and staples as needed.

Requirements

  • Medical assistant certification from a reputable professional healthcare association.
  • Understanding of medical administration safety procedures and standards.
  • Knowledge of the five patient rights: correct patient identification, correct medication administration, correct dosage, correct administration method, and correct scheduling.
  • Adequate documentation of patient information following organizational policies and regulatory standards, including privacy laws.
  • The ability to observe a patient's general physical condition and report any abnormalities to the healthcare provider.
  • Proficiency in administering injections and drawing blood.
  • Understanding of medical terminology.
  • The ability to build trust and rapport with patients.

Qualifications

  • H.S. Diploma or GED Equivalent.
  • Certification/License/Registration: Basic Life Support (BLS) or obtain within (30) thirty days of hire or transfer.
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA): Must be CMA from one listed Nat Cert Med Asst (NCMA), Cert Med Asst (CMA) from AAMA or ARMACl, Cln Med Asst (CCMA) from NHA, Reg Med Asst (RMA) from AMT, AAMP or AAHNat Reg Cert Med Asst (NRCMA), Cln Med Asst Cert (CMAC) from AMCA.
