Certified: Math Teacher (High School)

Summary

This class facilitates learning, academic achievement, and personal development by providing instruction to students. Responsibilities include developing and implementing curriculum and lesson plans, utilizing technology, and understanding diverse student needs.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates student performance through examinations, homework assignments, and other methods.
• Maintains contact and communications with parents regarding internships, volunteering, and community service projects.
• Develops, adapts, and updates curriculum according to District and school objectives.
• Enforces school rules and takes appropriate disciplinary actions.
• Provides remediation and revises teaching methodology to accommodate students.
• Coordinates special needs students with special education teachers.
• Participates in PPT and CPPT meetings.

Requirements

• Valid Connecticut State Board of Education teaching certificate/endorsement(s) Grades 7-12 (029).
• Current Motor Vehicle operator’s license (may be required).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college.
• Knowledge of core curriculum areas and educational philosophy.
• Experience in classroom management and instructional technologies.
