Responsibilities

• Functions as a professional with advanced technical knowledge within the assigned laboratory area.
• Oversees, coordinates, and participates in quality assurance and performance improvement.
• Supports laboratory education, new employee training, and proficiency testing when assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology/Clinical Laboratory Science or Physical Science, or Associate’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technician.
• ASCP or equivalent certification, which must be maintained without lapse during employment. If certification lapses, the job will be downgraded to Medical Laboratory Scientist (non-certified) or Medical Laboratory Technician (non-certified) until certification is reinstated.
• Current knowledge of clinical laboratory techniques and principles.

Qualifications

• Preferred: 5+ years of clinical laboratory experience as a Medical Technologist, Medical Laboratory Technician, Clinical Laboratory Scientist, or Medical Laboratory Scientist within a clinical laboratory.
