Certified Journeyman Electrician
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures in commercial and industrial settings
- Ensure all work complies with the National Electrical Code (NEC), state, and local regulations
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
- Troubleshoot electrical issues using testing devices and diagnostic tools
- Install and maintain panels, breakers, conduits, transformers, and control systems
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance
- Lead or assist apprentices and ensure adherence to safety procedures
- Inspect components, including wiring and electrical products, to ensure safety and compliance
- Upgrade existing electrical systems to improve performance, reduce costs, and enhance safety
- Diagnose and repair faulty wiring, malfunctioning circuits, and equipment failure
- Use tools such as wire strippers, receptacle testers, and cable cutters
- Interpret blueprints to understand electrical structures
- Implement problem-solving and critical thinking skills for troubleshooting
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in accordance with safety standards
- Install solar project components including modules, inverters, electrical collection lines, access roadways, carport, and lighting
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED (required)
- Valid driver’s license and valid Journeyman Electrician license (CA state-specific)
- Completion of a certified electrical apprenticeship program
- Forklift certified, or willingness to become certified
- Ability to travel within California up to 100%
- Effective communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of OSHA requirements
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing equipment
- Reliable transportation
