About the role

Responsibilities
- Use your lived experience and recovery journey to inspire hope, provide encouragement, and support individuals as they build meaningful lives in recovery.
- Partner with clients one-on-one and in group settings to help identify goals, develop recovery plans, strengthen self-advocacy skills, and celebrate progress along the way.
- Help individuals connect with housing, community resources, support groups, and services that promote independence, stability, and overall well-being.
- Work closely with providers, nurses, social workers, medical assistants, and care team members to support whole-person care and help clients achieve their recovery goals.
- Serve as a champion for recovery by helping individuals build confidence, find their voice, overcome barriers, and navigate systems of care with dignity and respect.
- Expand your knowledge and skills through ongoing training, including completion and maintenance of Maine's Certified Intentional Peer Support Specialist (CIPSS) certification.

Requirements
- A High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous Experience with Electronic Health Record preferred.
- Completion of the Maine Office of Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services (SAMHS) curriculum for CIPSS. Curriculum must be completed, and certificate awarded within 9 months of employment.
- Maintain CIPSS certification, once achieved.
- Will have up-to-date training and certification in Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or American Health & Safety Institute. Must obtain within 2 weeks if not current at hire.
Qualifications
- Having a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record and/or an appropriate length of driving experience for insurance purposes is required.

- Part-Time, Monday / Wednesday / Friday, 8am-4:30pm (Schedule can have some flexibility depending on your needs.)
