About the Role

Home To Stay is seeking a compassionate and dependable Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA) to provide care for a veteran in Franklinville, NJ. The client is able to ambulate independently with appropriate supervision and uses a cane around the home and a walker for longer distances. The client is a fall risk because his blood pressure can suddenly drop, so a caregiver who is attentive, patient, and comfortable providing close supervision is important. There is 1 cat and 2 dogs in the home. Services are provided only in the veteran's home, and the veteran must be present in the home while the CHHA is providing services.

What This Client Needs

• Supervision and assistance with ambulation
• Experience assisting clients who are fall risks
• Comfortable providing a light boost when the client gets up from a bed or couch
• Supervision when the client transfers from a lift chair or chair with armrests
• Familiarity with safe use of a cane and walker
• Comfortable working in a home with 1 cat and 2 dogs
• Patient, observant, and safety-focused caregiver

No transportation, errands, or shopping are required for this case.

Responsibilities

• Provide close supervision and assistance to a veteran with mobility and fall-risk concerns
• Assist with safe ambulation, transfers, and use of mobility aids (cane, walker)
• Ensure the client’s safety while remaining attentive and patient
• Work in a home with pets while maintaining a safe and clean environment

Requirements

• Active New Jersey CHHA certification
• Reliable transportation to and from the client's home
• Comfortable assisting with mobility and transfers
• Able to recognize and respond appropriately to fall-risk situations
• Compassionate, dependable, attentive, and safety-conscious
• Comfortable working around household pets
• Must be able to provide services while the veteran is present in the home

Schedule

Monday & Wednesday, 3:00 PM–8:00 PM; Friday, 3:00 PM–7:00 PM

Potential start date: August 17th

$20.50 per hour
