About the role
The Certified Hand Therapist (CHT), Physical Therapist, or Occupational Therapist will treat various upper extremity disorders such as tendon injuries, sprains, strains, post-operative fractures, and more. They will work closely with the regional hand therapy coordinator to ensure they have all necessary resources.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate, plan, and implement individualized treatment programs for patients.
- Evaluate and re-evaluate patients to monitor progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
- Communicate effectively with facilities and clients to enhance client relations and maintain positive interactions.
- Maintain current knowledge in occupational therapy research and practice evidence-based interventions.
- Apply custom splinting techniques both pre- and post-operatively.
- Adhere to CPR guidelines.
Requirements
- A minimum of 1 year of Hand therapy experience or be working towards CHT certification.
- A graduate of an accredited school for occupational or physical therapy.
- A specialty certification or licensure in hand therapy.
- National registration and state licensure or registration required.
Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact positively with clients and facilities.
- Ability to stay updated on the latest occupational therapy research and evidence-based practices.
- Experience with custom splinting for orthopedic conditions.
