Certified Flight Instructor
Responsibilities
- Provide high quality flight, ground, and simulator instruction in accordance with the Sporty’s syllabi for Sport, Private, Instrument, Commercial, Flight Instructor, and Airline Transport Pilot certificates.
- Promptly report aircraft maintenance discrepancies to the Chief Flight Instructor and/or Director of Maintenance.
- Give facility tours to prospective customers and members of the community.
- Recruit new customers and reach out to past customers for the flight school.
- Maintain student and renter files with the appropriate documentation as required by Federal Law and company policy.
- Other duties as assigned by the Chief Flight Instructor and/or General Manager.
Qualifications
- Educations and/or Experience:
- Commercial Airplane Single-Engine Land
- Commercial Airplane Multiengine Land (Preferred)
- CFI
- CFII and MEI (Preferred)
- G1000 or other glass cockpit avionics experience (Preferred)
- Tailwheel, complex, and high-performance endorsements (Preferred)
About the Role
The Tom Wood Aviation is a busy certified flight school located in Fishers, IN. They operate with a fleet of modern aircraft including G1000 NXi-equipped Cessna 172 Skyhawks, a “steam gauge” Cessna 172S and 172R, and two Piper Pilot 100i aircraft equipped with the latest Garmin Avionics. The position requires a Commercial Airplane Single-Engine Land license, and preferred qualifications include a Commercial Airplane Multiengine Land license, CFI, CFII and MEI, G1000 or other glass cockpit avionics experience, and tailwheel, complex, and high-performance endorsements.
