About the role

Vanderbilt Health is seeking a Certified Surgical First Assistant to join our Operating Room team. This position requires a combination of surgical assisting skills and a commitment to patient care.

Responsibilities

• Aid the surgeon during surgical procedures, including hemodynamics, suturing, and retracting.
• Support OR staff as needed.
• Adhere to safety protocols and maintain sterile environments.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved surgical assistant program or equivalent military service.
• One year of relevant work experience, with OB experience preferred.
• Registration with the Tennessee Board of Medical Examiners.
• Certification from one of the following organizations: NBSTSA, NCCT, CSFA, CSA, SA-C.
