About the role

Vanderbilt Health is seeking a Certified Surgical First Assistant to join our Operating Room team. This role involves assisting surgeons during surgical procedures, including hemodynamics, suturing, and retracting. The ideal candidate should have a background in surgical technology and be registered with the Tennessee Board of Medical Examiners.

Responsibilities

• Aid the surgeon in surgical procedures, including hemodynamics, suturing, and retracting
• Support OR staff as needed
• Adhere to safety and infection control protocols

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved surgical assistant training program
• One year of relevant work experience
• Registration with the Tennessee Board of Medical Examiners
• Certification from one of the following issuers: NBSTSA, NCCT, CSFA, CSA, SA-C

• $20,000 sign-on bonus over two years

Pay

This full-time position offers competitive compensation and benefits.

Schedule

The schedule is full-time, Monday through Friday, with options for 10 or 12 hour shifts. One set day off per week is provided.

Call Coverage & Late Stay

Includes weekend/holiday call rotation and backup call for M-F call team, with 2-3 late stays per month.
