Certified - Firefighter/AEMT
About the role
The College Park Fire-Rescue Department is seeking Certified Firefighter EMTs and Paramedics to join our dynamic team. The department operates three companies, each equipped with a truck, quint, engine, and two rescue units, staffed by full-time firefighters and paramedics.
Responsibilities
- Protect lives and property through fire suppression, fire prevention, and safety activities.
- Provide emergency medical care to the sick and injured.
- Participate in fire prevention and inspection activities.
- Operate and maintain fire apparatus and equipment.
- Respond to fire alarms and other emergency calls.
- Extinguish and control fires, protect property, and provide emergency medical care.
- Perform salvage operations and keep equipment clean and in good order.
- Train and participate in drills and classes.
- Inspect and maintain equipment and apparatus.
- Communicate effectively with the public and school groups.
- Perform incident activity data entry.
- Respond to hazardous materials incidents and provide support activities.
- Administer emergency medical care and perform rescue operations.
- Perform pre-fire planning and other related duties.
Requirements
- A High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
- A minimum of Firefighter I and Hazardous Materials-Operations certification from the State of Georgia, IFSAC, ProBoard, or similar organizations.
- A National Professional Qualifications (Pro-Board) certification as a minimum.
- A current BCLS/ACLS certification.
- A current BLS CPR certification.
- A valid Georgia driver's license.
- A U.S. citizenship.
- Age 18 at the time of application.
Qualifications
- Experience in communicating with diverse communities and establishing cooperative working relationships.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
- Extensive hours and weekend availability.

Pay
- Firefighter 1 EMT salary: $50,831.04
- Firefighter/Paramedic salary: $50,831.04 + $3,500 Paramedic Incentive
Schedule
Varying work schedules are required due to the nature of the job, which includes responding to emergency calls and participating in training drills.
