Certified EIP Teacher at Ivy Prep Academy

About the Role

The EIP Teacher is responsible for the education of assigned students, creating a flexible program and class environment favorable for learning and personal growth. The teacher will establish effective rapport with students, motivate them to develop skills, attitudes, and knowledge needed for a strong educational foundation, and maintain professional relations with staff and parents.

Responsibilities

  • Provide the names and number of EIP students to principals/Assistant Principal by September 1 and/or well in advance of the first FTE count.
  • Conduct at least five fifty-minute segments of small group instruction daily to assigned students according to the school’s approved model and EIP schedule.
  • Provide the principal, teachers, and district EIP Coordinator with a detailed EIP schedule.
  • Maintain an accurate and up-to-date data notebook, including progress monitoring, benchmark results, and differentiated lesson plans.
  • Analyze assessment data weekly to target explicit, systematic, small group instruction and plan for continuous improvement for each student, subgroups, and the school.
  • Provide the principal with weekly differentiated lesson plans.
  • Align instruction with Georgia Performance Standards and district expectations for learning.
  • Plan regularly with regular education teachers to design, monitor, and revise instruction to ensure student progress toward standards.
  • Chart and document each EIP student’s growth using a balanced assessment system (diagnostic, performance, formative, summative, academic prompts, etc.).
  • Convey high expectations for student achievement through instructional goals, activities, interactions, and environment.
  • Supervise students and maintain discipline at all times.
  • Review SIS reports prior to each FTE count to ensure proper coding in the student information system for students receiving EIP services.
  • Adhere to GaDOE guidelines for serving EIP-eligible students.
  • Protect the confidentiality of student information.
  • Interact positively with students and parents.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree (required).
  • Georgia Educator’s Certificate (preferred but not required).
  • 3+ years of teaching experience in K-5.
