Certified EEG Technician
About the role
Perform set up and preparation of equipment/supplies for ordered tests.
Review patient's history, obtain any necessary information or documentation and provides education to patient about procedures.
Monitor and document patient's condition at all times and reports any adverse reactions.
Operate and maintain a variety of equipment to obtain diagnostic data, which may include EEG (Electroencephalography), EP (Evoked Potential), and PSG (Polysomnography) equipment.
Recognize and correct for artifacts.
Score/graph, document, and report results of diagnostic procedures.
Minimum Requirements
- Licensure / Certification / Registration: BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
- One or more of the following required:
- Electroencephalographic Technician credentialed from the ABRET Neurodiagnostic Credentialing & Accreditation (ABRET) obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
- Technologist specializing in Neurophysiologic Intraop Monit credentialed from the ABRET Neurodiagnostic Credentialing & Accreditation (ABRET) obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
- Technologist specializing in Evoked Potential credentialed from the ABRET Neurodiagnostic Credentialing & Accreditation (ABRET) obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
- Tech specializing in Nerve Conduction Study obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
- Education: High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
