Responsibilities
- Design precise treatment plans to deliver targeted radiation doses under the direction of medical physicist and radiation oncologist, directly contributing to successful patient outcomes and tumor management
- Assist with or perform the fabrication of beam modifying devices and immobilization devices
- Perform specialized brachytherapy procedures in close collaboration with the care team to provide high-precision, localized treatment
- Provide technical support for equipment calibrations and radiation protection, ensuring the highest standards of safety and care quality for patients and staff
- Collaborate on innovative clinical research and dosimetry projects alongside medical physicists to continuously elevate radiation therapy practices
Requirements
- Certified Medical Dosimetrist credentialed from the Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board obtained within 36 months (3 years) of hire date or job transfer date required
- High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience required
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Dosimetrist or enrolled in a program to become CMD credentialed
- Radiation therapist experience (preferred)
