About the role
The Dining Services Director at Abington Manor is a critical position responsible for overseeing the dietary operations of the facility. This role requires a combination of culinary expertise, strong leadership skills, and a deep understanding of healthcare regulations.
Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, develop, and direct the overall operation of the Dietary Department
- Maintain cleanliness, safety, and comfort in the facility
- Inspect dietary functions weekly to ensure quality control measures are in place
- Coordinate dietary services with other departments
- Submit accident and incident reports promptly
- Perform regular inspections of dining service areas for sanitation, order, safety, and performance
- Participate in surveys and inspections
- Make independent decisions when necessary
- Provide exceptional hospitality and communication to residents, family members, guests, and team members
- Carry out dining services practices and procedures, including adhering to relevant laws, regulations, and guidelines
- Seek out and implement new methods and principles in dining services practices
- Interpret cost reports, financial data, and relate information about a resident's condition
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Graduated from an accredited course in dietetic training approved by the ADA
- Food Service Sanitation (ServSafe) certification
- Culinary or Hospitality Degree preferred
- CDM Certification preferred
- Three (3) years experience in a supervisory capacity in a hospital, nursing care facility, or other related medical facility
- Knowledgeable of dietary practices and procedures, as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing dietary functions in a nursing care facility
- Training in cost control, food management, diet therapy, etc.
- Registered as a Dining Service Director in this state
- Successfully completed a post-offer, pre-employment criminal background check and physical/drug screen
