Certified Dietary Director

About the role

As a Dietary Director, you will plan, direct, control, and supervise functions and personnel within the dietary department. You will safely and efficiently provide nutritionally appropriate food to residents to maintain and enhance their overall health. The Dietary Director ensures the provision of quality food service and nutrition care in accordance with Federal, State, and Local regulations.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and supervise dietary department functions and personnel.
• Provide nutritionally appropriate food to residents to support their health and well-being.
• Ensure compliance with Federal, State, and Local regulations for food service and nutrition care.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Certified Dietary Manager (CDM), Certified Food Protection Professional (CFPP), or Dietetic Technician, registered (DTR) certification required; or equivalent training from military experience or traditional education.
• Associate’s or higher degree in food service management or hospitality (including a course of study in food service or restaurant management from an accredited institution) highly preferred.
• Prior dietary supervisory experience in a long-term care (LTC), skilled nursing facility (SNF), assisted living (AL), or memory care (MC) setting required.
• Certification in food safety, as required by state regulations.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Professional image in both appearance and behavior.
• Passion for working with seniors and a flexible, fun, and energetic personality.
